Three more women have come forward to allege sexual misconduct by former Entourage star Jeremy Piven, who vehemently denied the allegations in November. In an interview with KTLA last week, the actor says that while he was initially “furious” and angry about the accusations against him, he’s now moved on from them. Piven is currently touring the country with his stand-up comedy show, flexing his comedic muscle that he didn’t have the opportunity to hone in his acting career.
The actor says that he shifted to stand-up when he realized that the sexual allegations against him could potentially derail his career, and that if he wanted to continue doing his craft he needed to start focusing on it full time. He adds that he doesn’t see himself as being a victim, but rather that the accusations were an attempt to thwart his art.
Piven cites the #MeToo movement as being partly to blame for the attacks against him, and claims that journalists have escalated the allegations in an attempt to garner more clicks on their articles. He also says that he believes the accusations against him are being fabricated, and that he doesn’t want his hard-earned reputation to be “torn apart.”
The actor is still trying to rebound from the backlash that followed the November BuzzFeed report on the new allegations against him, which included multiple instances of sexual harassment and assault. The publication detailed incidents alleged to have occurred between 1985 and 1996, including one woman’s claim that Piven followed her into a trailer on the set of Lucas in 1985, and another’s claim that he exposed himself to her after a consensual encounter at his home in 1996.
In the KTLA interview, Piven talks about his new podcast, which features him speaking to influential guests such as Jamie Foxx, Mark Cuban, and UFC stars Rashad Evans and Jorge Masvidal. He explains that the format is similar to a talk show, but with a twist. He says that the interviews are intimate and in-depth, and the topics can range from politics to current events.
The interview with Jeremy Piven can be heard on KTLA’s website, or on your preferred podcast app. In the meantime, fans can catch him on tour around the country and internationally.
